What Why5 does and does not provide, and what you should discuss with your own doctor.

This is not medical care
Why5 facilitates 5-MeO-DMT ceremonies and the preparation and integration around them. Why5 does not provide medical care, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and nothing on this website is medical advice.
Reading this website creates no practitioner relationship of any kind. Nor does booking or completing a discovery call.
What the roles are
Jamie Norrish facilitates. That work is coaching. It is not psychotherapy, and it is not medical treatment.
A registered clinical counsellor works alongside the programme and provides clinical counselling within her own scope of practice and her own professional obligations. That is a separate role from facilitation, and the two are not interchangeable.
Where someone needs support beyond what the programme provides, Why5 refers out.
Screening is required, and it is not a guarantee
Every participant completes an intake and a medical screening questionnaire before a ceremony is confirmed, and signs a waiver before ceremony day. Screening exists to reduce risk. It does not remove risk, and it is not a medical clearance.
Why5 may decline to work with someone at any point, including after a deposit has been taken.
Conditions and medications we need to discuss
Some conditions and medications have to be talked through before anything is agreed. Among them:
• Heart conditions, and heart medications
• SSRIs and other antidepressants
• Schizophrenia
• Bipolar disorder
This list is not complete. There are other medications and conditions that matter, and the only reliable way to establish whether any of them apply to you is a conversation. That conversation happens on the discovery call and in the intake.
Your own doctor
You are responsible for your own medical decisions. Discuss participation with your physician or prescriber before you commit.
Why5 does not tell anyone to stop, reduce or change prescribed medication. If a medication is a problem for this work, that is a conversation for you and your prescriber, not an instruction from us.
On the day
A facilitator holding current first aid certification is present throughout. You name an emergency contact before the day. If emergency services are needed they will be called, and your emergency contact will be informed.
